Started this piece while working on the cute giraffes (I started so many new pieces before I finished that one - it sucks to have all that inspiration when you need to focus on ONE illustration to meet a deadline ;-; ) Auuuuggh, I redid their hair twice  because I didn't like the woman's hair. I really like colorful hairstyles^^

I actually had this piece done earlier - but it was in a daylight setting and after leaving it alone for a week I didn't really like the design anymore (this is the first version: www.instagram.com/p/BH0WpM9jM5…). So I redid the background and added a galaxy/starry surrounding to add to the original title.

With the design and setting I wanted the picture to tell the story with as few words as possible. I think my original idea kind of morphed over time so there's probably at least 2 ways to interpret it.
In short: The image is meant to illustrate the general hopes, desires and expectations of the parties in a relationship. The tattoos were originally a major part of the theme - now they make up maybe half of the story and characters themselves have a more central role in the story concept^^
